Our Story

A place with a past, built for a simpler life

The land behind The Oaks at Mill Pond carries two long chapters: Cherokee homeland, and a farmstead belonging to one of East Cobb’s pioneer families. Today it becomes a new community beneath century-old live oaks and magnolias.

Our Story

Inspired by history, made for today

The Oaks at Mill Pond was inspired by its rich historical legacy. On beautiful rolling acreage that was once the homeland of Cherokee Indians and later a farmstead for one of East Cobb’s pioneer families, the vision was to revive an ambiance of life in a simpler place — a quiet, unhurried setting where neighbors know one another.

That vision is visible in the canopy overhead. Sprawling branches of century-old live oaks and magnolias were the starting point rather than the backdrop, and the community was planned around the trees and the land they already stood on.

  • A natural setting of century-old live oaks and magnolias
  • Rolling acreage with roots in Cherokee homeland
  • A later chapter as a pioneer family farmstead
  • A rustic fireside pavilion at the center of a lushly landscaped park
  • Located in a great East Cobb location with an excellent public school system
Community Spirit

Neighborly by nature

Homes at The Oaks at Mill Pond were designed for people who enjoy a simple, peaceful lifestyle, and the common spaces were planned to make everyday life outdoors easy: the fireside pavilion in the landscaped park is the natural gathering point at the center of the community.

The result is a place that feels established rather than new — a neighborhood with a strong sense of place, community spirit, and connection between neighbors.

The Land

Three chapters in one place

1

Cherokee homeland

The rolling acreage was once the homeland of Cherokee Indians, giving the site its deepest sense of place.

2

A pioneer farmstead

Later, the land served as a farmstead for one of East Cobb’s pioneer families.

3

The Oaks at Mill Pond

Today it is a residential community of redefined living, nestled beneath century-old live oaks and magnolias.

Behind The Oaks at Mill Pond lies a land with two long chapters: first the homeland of the Cherokee people, and later a working farmstead tied to one of East Cobb's pioneer families. Those layers of history still shape the character of the community today, where broad spreading live oaks and magnolias shade the streets and gather residents beneath their branches. The setting on rolling acreage keeps the neighborhood connected to the landscape, giving it the kind of timeless, unhurried atmosphere that is difficult to find elsewhere in the area.

The vision behind this development was to revive the feeling of life in a simpler place, one grounded in genuine neighborliness rather than hurried convenience. Homes are grouped around shared green spaces, parks and a central pavilion where fireside gatherings and community events naturally unfold. Lushly landscaped entries, generous setbacks and mature trees frame a design that is both rustic and refined, and the result is a place where the spirit of the original farmstead is echoed in every home, exteriors and open spaces alike.

“A rustic fireside pavilion at the center of a lushly landscaped park — the heart of a community built around community spirit and a simpler way of life.”
